A medieval village somewhere in Hungary: seven citizens were found mutilated within a very short time. The town dignitaries are at a loss. Is it to do with the mysterious stranger who recently came to Szesvar? The village doctor is skeptical, but the mayor is sure: it is a messenger of the devil. And he does not seem to have come alone: Eerie apparitions frighten the inhabitants, and a werewolf is roaming the woods. Crawford's wife Mary-Ann becomes the stranger's first victim, and the mayor's daughter can't resist him either. But this is only the beginning...
