At the urging of his good friend Nicolaus, he gives the likable Rosa a job, and with heart and wit, the down-to-earth cook succeeds in winning the trust of her capricious boss. Then, surprisingly, Vivien appears. Their attached friendliness makes Rosa suspicious. She senses that Vivien is up to something.
