Released in 1957, Rain is a drama, crime and romance film directed by Shankar Mukherjee, running about 133 minutes.
What it’s about. City-bred Ramu is involved in petty crime. When his close friend Gopal asks him to go to the village and look after his mother and sister Chanda, Ramu does so. After coming to know both mother and daughter, they decide to re-locate to the big city to be together with Gopal. In the process, Ramu and Chanda fall in love with each other. Chanda wants Ramu to give up his life of crime, but will his crime partners allow Ramu to lead a normal life?
Who’s in it. Rain stars Dev Anand as Ramu, Nutan as Chanda, Anwar Hussain as Mohan and Nana Palsikar as Gopal Dada, among others.
