Nadine (1987): cast, story & where to watch

Released in 1987, Nadine is an action, comedy, crime and romance film directed by Robert Benton, running about 83 minutes. “The cops want her. The killers want him. They want a divorce. Ain't love grand!” — that tagline sets the tone.

What it’s about. Hairdresser Nadine Hightower wants to retrieve the risqué photos she once posed for, but when she visits the photographer at his office, he's murdered by an intruder. Nadine talks her estranged husband, Vernon, into going along when she returns to the office, where they stumble across plans for a less than legal construction project. But when Vernon tries to turn the documents into a cash windfall, he and Nadine are pursued by goons with guns.

Who’s in it. Nadine stars Jeff Bridges as Vernon Hightower, Kim Basinger as Nadine Hightower, Rip Torn as Buford Pope and Gwen Verdon as Vera, among others.

How it landed. With an audience score of 5.4/10, Nadine has proved divisive with audiences. It went on to earn $5.7M at the box office.
