Legend of the Red Dragon (1994): cast, story & where to watch

Released in 1994, Legend of the Red Dragon is an action, comedy and adventure film directed by Wong Jing, running about 95 minutes.

What it’s about. A young father and his infant son are beset by forces of evil and corruption. They wander China, upholding their sense of honor and protecting the weak. When they are forced into combat, spectacular and hilarious fast-motion kung fu sequences follow. In the end, they must call on all of their abilities in a battle royale, to attempt to vanquish a supernatural man-monster or die trying.

Who’s in it. Legend of the Red Dragon stars Jet Li as Hung Hei-Kwun, Chingmy Yau Suk-Ching as Red Bean, Xie Miao as Hung Man Ting and Damian Lau Chung-Yan as Mr. Chan, among others.

How it landed. With an audience score of 6.9/10, Legend of the Red Dragon has drawn a solid, mixed-to-positive response.
