Released in 1963, The Send-Off is a documentary film directed by Aivars Freimanis, running about 20 minutes.

What it’s about. While shooting a documentary about a 'Komsomol' class who all went to save a struggling kolkhoz, the filmmakers also shot mud, broken tractors, flooded fields. The film turned scandalous and was not screened, because of it allegedly being anti-Soviet: defamatory of collective farming.
