What it’s about. The Eurovision Song Contest 1994 was the 39th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest. It took place in Dublin, Ireland. It was the fifth time that Ireland had hosted the contest, having previously done so in 1971, 1981, 1988 and 1993. It was the first time that the same country had hosted the contest two years in a row. Organised by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and host broadcaster Raidió Teilifís Éireann (RTÉ), the contest was held at the Point Theatre, with the final on 30 April 1994. The live show was presented by Cynthia Ní Mhurchú and Gerry Ryan.
