What it’s about. For some unknown reason or other, Alkali Ike cannot get along with his wife. To make matters worse, Mrs. Alkali invites her mother to visit her. Mother-in-law starts right in trying to reform her son-in-law. Alkali meets her at the railroad station, and instead of hiring a bus to carry up her baggage, she makes Alkali carry three or four hat boxes, a parrot, and a trunk, on his back to the house.
