Released in 1985, Warriors of the Wind is a notable film directed by Hayao Miyazaki.
What it’s about. Often credited as the reason for Studio Ghibli's strict "no cuts" policy for international releases of their works, Warriors of the Wind is a heavily-edited American version of Hayao Miyazaki's 1984 film Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind. In order to market the film as family-friendly, approximately 22 minutes of the original film are cut out in this version, resulting in a thoroughly altered story. Much of the original cast of characters are also renamed, including Nausicaä, who is in this version called Princess Zandra.
