China Salesman (2017): cast, story & where to watch

Released in 2017, China Salesman is an action and thriller film directed by Tan Bing, running about 110 minutes. “The brave are Invincible, morality will win the war at very start.” — that tagline sets the tone.

What it’s about. Yan Jian, a young Chinese IT engineer who volunteers to go to North Africa and help the company he works for to win a competition. The winner can own the right to control the communication between south and north. French spy Michael works for the West. His boss ordered him to go to the North Africa and win the competition, and they can control the great mineral resources of Africa. He hired the best mercenary in Africa whose name is Lauder and a former general Kabbah to help him. Yan has discovered their conspiracy, he is the only one who can stop them.

Who’s in it. China Salesman stars Li Dongxue as Yan Jian, Mike Tyson as Kabbah, Janicke Askevold as Susanna and Li Ai as Ruan Ling, among others.

How it landed. With an audience score of 5.8/10, China Salesman has drawn a solid, mixed-to-positive response. It went on to earn $1.6M at the box office.
