What it’s about. Jan Cousins, brutally raped by her date, returns to boarding school, and there she is confronted by Clarice, a lesbian who seduces her. Jan seeks sexual fulfillment from her boyfriend, Roger, but his strict upbringing has left him with a perverse need to be spanked. Roger appeals first to a prostitute, then to Clarice, and finally to Jan for spanking, but she reacts with shock and tears. Her psychiatrist suggests that she find a normal man, but her successive dates are even more abnormal than Roger. She modifies her standards of normality and begins to accept all types of behaviour. She does some research on flagellation, whips Roger, and finally achieves sexual satisfaction.
