What it’s about. Storybook International is a British children's TV series produced by Harlech Productions for ITV. The show featured folk tales and fairy stories from around the world, based on an anthology edited by Veronica Kruger. Filmed in locations like Russia, Ireland, and Scandinavia, it had 65 episodes over three series, first airing in 1983. The series was initially in Britain and Europe but later aired in the US, Scandinavia, and the Middle East. It was released on VHS in the 1980s and 1990s and on DVD in 2006. The show's animated title sequence featured a troubadour singing the theme song with a friendly fox. The original was in a traditional English folk style, but international versions varied, such as the US version replacing "In England I am John" with "In America I'm John".
