Peruvian soul poster

Released in 1930, Peruvian soul is a notable film directed by Alberto Santana.

What it’s about. The film is a melodrama that tells the story of a couple who live misadventures. The heroes will have to go through different scenarios, such as hills, factory and penitentiary. The first production we've seen from Patria Films, frankly, hasn't impressed us. It seems unbelievable that despite all the criticism leveled at American films for their bland plots, the plot is the first weak point of all national productions, whether Peruvian, Argentinian, or Spanish, despite the abundant good literature that has been written. The plot of Alma peruana is worthless, and the limited cinematic experience of its actors, not only in acting but also in makeup, does nothing to mask its flaws.

How it landed. With an audience score of 7.0/10, Peruvian soul has been warmly received by audiences.
