Il est stoppé dans son élan par son voisin de palier qui lui suggère un plan inattendu pour garder son emploi : se faire passer pour un homosexuel. Partant du principe qu'à notre époque de politiquement correct, on ne vire pas un gay, il parvient à convaincre Pignon de jouer le jeu tout en restant un petit bonhomme discret et timide... Ce qui va changer, c'est le regard des autres. Pignon va ainsi bénéficier d'une réinsertion insolite en sortant d'un placard où il n'était jamais entré.
