Godzilla (2014) : distribution, intrigue et streaming

Released in 2014, Godzilla is an action, drame and science-fiction film directed by Gareth Edwards, running about 123 minutes. “L'arrivée d'un roi n'est jamais silencieuse.” — that tagline sets the tone.

What it’s about. Le physicien Joseph Brody a perdu sa femme il y a 15 ans quand un incident nucléaire a irradié la région de Tokyo. La thèse officielle parle de tremblement de terre mais le scientifique est sceptique et mène son enquête avec son fils Ford, soldat dans la Navy. En fait de catastrophe naturelle, il s'agit plutôt des dégâts d'une créature gigantesque créée à la suite d'essais nucléaires dans le Pacifique. D'autres monstres menacent l'archipel d'Hawaï et la côte Ouest des États-Unis. L'armée est mobilisée et menée par l'Amiral William Stenz. Au même moment, la compagne de Ford, infirmière et jeune maman, gère les blessés dans un hôpital de San Francisco…

Who’s in it. Godzilla stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson as Ford Brody, Elizabeth Olsen as Elle Brody, Bryan Cranston as Joe Brody and Ken Watanabe as Dr. Ishiro Serizawa, among others.

How it landed. With an audience score of 6.3/10, Godzilla has drawn a solid, mixed-to-positive response. It went on to earn $529.1M at the box office.
