Peu après, Juan le guitariste, un des leurs, trouve la mort dans très mystérieuses circonstances : personne ne peut dire s'il s'agit d'un suicide, d'une mort naturelle ou d'un meurtre. Un journaliste prétend rapidement que sa mort doit être imputée à une organisation fasciste. Au même moment, Gérard, un metteur en scène de théâtre, essaie de monter une pièce et propose à Anne d'en faire partie. Mais il est bientôt évincé du spectacle et, de surcroît, Terry, sa compagne, le quitte…
