What it’s about. Dans le futur (1997), après une guerre atomique, la Terre est désormais divisée en deux régions, Hemis Nord et Hemis Sud qui sont encore en conflit. Le programme spatial d'Hemis Sud construit une fusée spatiale gràçe à laquelle le premier voyage vers Mars sera entrepris. Le directeur du projet, le Dr Albert Gordon et ses astronautes Paul Clinton et Craig Matthews voyagent jusqu'à la station spatiale où la fusée Mercury a été construite. Un jour avant le lancement (le 7 novembre 1997), une fusée d'Hemis Nord approche la station spatiale. Son équipage, le Capitaine Torrens et le Dr Martin, demandent par radio l'autorisation de débarquer et de réparer leur fusée, ce qui leur est accordé.
