What it’s about. Depuis son divorce, Kate Findlay peut enfin mener la vie qu'elle espérait. Encore jeune et séduisante, elle fait désormais partie de ces femmes à qui tout semble réussir. Son bonheur serait parfait si son ex-mari avait su faire, de son côté, le deuil de leur mariage raté. Il se trouve en effet qu'il n'a jamais, au fond, accepté leur divorce. Il se met à suivre Kate partout et à surveiller attentivement et jalousement ses moindres mouvements. Kate en est réduite à barricader portes et fenêtres. Elle est bien obligée de constater que son ex-mari applique à la lettre le serment prononcé lors de leur mariage : jusqu'à ce que la mort les sépare, les époux se promettent amour et fidélité
