Il propose un pari au jeune Hee-do, artiste peintre sans le sou : le jeu consiste à composer un numéro de téléphone au hasard, et de deviner si la personne à l’autre bout du fil est un homme ou une femme. Si Hee-do gagne, le vieil homme lui offrira une partie de sa fortune. Mais s’il perd, il devra lui céder son corps. Ne comprenant pas bien l’enjeu de ce marché, Hee-do décide de tenter sa chance… et perd. Un mois plus tard, Hee-do se réveille dans le corps de No-sik et comprend rapidement ce qui lui est arrivé. Le vieillard ayant gagné son pari, il s’est approprié le corps de Hee-do en y transplantant son cerveau, et inversement.
