Par un enchaînement d'événement, deux jeunes gens se joignent à eux : Maxime, un jeune journaliste plein d'idéaux, et Sanja, une fille du pays à la recherche de ses parents disparus. Lorenzi, incapable de trouver Jako, invente ouvertement toutes sortes d'histoires pour garder intacte sa réputation, ce qui indigne profondément Maxime... La première victime de la guerre c'est la vérité.
