What it’s about. Dans une petite ville en voie d’industrialisation, le jeune « Beethoven » tente d’élaborer un réseau de relations humaines pour survivre à un profond désarroi : son frère aîné qui revient de RDA, un peintre alcoolique, un toxico, un ancien professeur devenu ouvrier, une jeune femme enceinte de lui, avec qui il ne réussit pas à créer une famille, une autre, Kata, qu’il aime vraiment sans pour autant renoncer à son style de vie chaotique. Pourtant « Beethoven » est un violoniste de grand talent, et ses patients, à l’hôpital psychiatrique où il travaille comme infirmier, apprécient sa gentillesse. Mais quelque chose en lui résiste âprement à l’intégration et à la norme.
