A l’écart du monde extérieur, Julie se sent de plus en plus opprimée par Magda et par l’atmosphère qui règne à la maison. Se réfugiant dans ses souvenirs d’enfance et dans le cinéma, elle finit par entrer en contact avec János, jeune ingénieur qui représentera sa seule issue pour sortir de ce monde où elle est enfermée.
