What it’s about. 21ème siècle. La Terre est sous la menace de Galactor, une organisation sans scrupules commandée par le mystérieux Berg Katse, et qui allie tactiques terroristes et connaissances technologiques très avancées pour tenter de s'emparer de la planète toute entière. Le seul espoir des humains repose sur l'Organisation Scientifique Internationale (ISO) et son administrateur, le professeur Kozaburô Nambu. Ce dernier utilise toutes les ressources de l'ISO pour vaincre Galactor dans une guerre sans merci. Mais le professeur Nambu dispose d'une arme scrète: une équipe d'intervention qu'il a lui-même créée. Cinq personnes, unies comme les doigts de la main. Ils sont invisibles, telle une ombre immaculée. Leur nom? Les Gatchaman!
