What it’s about. Tetsuo Togami est en 2e année du secondaire. Suite à une bagarre, il est hospitalisé. Il va y rencontre Maiko Takashiro qui a une maladie incurable ainsi qu'une déficience auditive et est incapable de parler. Dans les premiers temps, Tetsuo est gêné, mais commence à échanger des textos avec elle. À travers leurs échanges, il va commencer à avoir des sentiments pour elle et venir lui rendre visite quotidiennement, une fois sortie de l'hôpital. Ils se promettent de sortir ensemble à l’anniversaire de Maiko, mais son état empire.
