Un beau jour, les personnages d'un mélodrame, excédés par la stupidité de leurs rôles, se révoltent sur l'écran d'un cinéma. Ayant enfin retrouvé un sens à donner à sa vie, grâce à un cinéma qu'il a passé son temps à détruire, le censeur est chargé de ramener les personnages à la raison...
