Ce film est en 2 époques : 1re époque : Ce ne sont pas des anges Cette partie raconte la chronique d'un camp d'entrainement en Angleterre, d'un bataillon parachutistes SAS de la France libre pendant la Seconde Guerre mondiale. 2e époque : Terre de France. Une fois formé, le bataillon de parachutistes SAS est parachuté en Bretagne et sabote les installations allemandes avec l'aide des maquisards bretons. C'est en fait l'histoire romancée du Colonel Bourgoin, du Capitaine Marienne et du glorieux 2ème régiment de chasseurs parachutistes SAS (compagnon de la libération)
