Il parvient à s'associer à un homme d'affaires influent, Friedrich Pommer, dont le fils n'est autre que l'aide de camp du général visé. Ils se rendent ensemble dans la ville de Vinnitsa. Mais les nazis ont aussi leur agent double : un collaborateur infiltré au sein des partisans ukrainiens…
