What it’s about. Le garde forestier Tom Corbin surveille le chantier de coupe de bois de la McFarland and lumber company. Il découvre que le contremaitre Bart Williams falsifie à son profit les rapports pour le gouvernement. L'assistant de Williams, le géant Bull Riley, soupçonnant que Tom a tout découvert, lui donne une sévère correction lors d'un combat inégal. Tom fait alors son rapport et le gouvernement envoie l'inspecteur Joe Hanlon qui est assassiné dès son arrivée.
