Au point où elle en est, Hope pourrait intenter un procès en diffamation à ses parents pour lui avoir donné un prénom pareil : elle vient en effet de se réveiller au fond d'un cercueil, sous 2 mètres de terre ! Après plusieurs heures passées à hurler, quelqu'un vient enfin la sortir de sa tombe, mais uniquement pour la laisser se libérer du cercueil par ses propres moyens. Elle découvre alors qu'elle est au fond d'une forêt. Seule. Et que sa fille a disparu. Perdue au milieu des bois, elle finit pourtant par rencontrer quelqu'un : son bourreau, qui lui apprend que sa fille est morte. Ne reste alors à Hope qu'à servir d'esclave à cet homme, subir l'humiliation, la violence, la dégradation jusqu'à ce qu'elle trouve le moyen de se venger
