Le Moukhtar s'en retourne se demandant comment son village va prendre cet accord. Les oppositions et les contradictions vont alors se révéler dans la communauté-même. "La modernité d'aujourd'hui, c'est l’archaïsme de demain, l’archaïsme de demain, c'est la modernité d'aujourd'hui."
