What it’s about. Alors que le Mexique prépare la Coupe du monde de football 1986, Carlos, 17 ans, s'intéresse moins au football qu'à écouter sa collection de disques et à admirer Rita, la sœur aînée de son meilleur ami, Gera. La monotonie juvénile de Carlos et Gera en banlieue est interrompue lorsque le groupe gothique de Rita les emmène dans une discothèque souterraine, l’Azteca. Les adolescents sont immédiatement séduits par les habitués de l’Azteca et par leur monde exaltant de performance, de fluidité sexuelle et de médicaments sur ordonnance.
