What it’s about. Le hasard veut que les deux détectives privés (toujours en disputes) se trouvent simultanément au service du ménage du banquier Van Der Pouf. Tandis que Tricoche défend les intérêts de la jolie femme Bernardine, que courtise le riche et stupide duc Emile, son camarade Cacolet se charge de ceux du mari. Tout cela afin de leur soutirer leur argent, mais chacun pour leur propre compte... Un pacha turc se mêle de la partie, amoureux à la fois de Bernardine et de Fanny de Saint-Origan, maîtresse du banquier. Finalement, Tricoche et Cacolet triomphent en ramenant Bernardine à son mari, et font enlever Fanny, par le turc, sans avoir oublié auparavant de la séduire.
