What it’s about. Laura Colton vient de terminer ses études. Avant de se lancer dans la vie active, la jeune femme décide de retourner s'installer quelque temps chez son riche père. Catherine, la belle-mère de Laura, voit tout ceci d'un mauvais oeil et, très bientôt, les vieilles rancoeurs refont déjà surface. Lassée par ces tensions, Laura va chercher un peu de réconfort auprès de son amie de toujours, Ava, qui travaille dans un bar. La jolie Laura y rencontre un certain Brad Sterling, le neveu d'un milliardaire. Laura tombe sous le charme de Brad, mais Ava lui avoue qu'elle n'a pas confiance en lui. Peu après, la jeune fille est alors retrouvée morte, tuée par un chauffard...
