What it’s about. Originaire de Kyushu, le jeune Adachi Futoshi avait quitté sa région natale pour commencer une nouvelle vie à Tokyo. Adachi s'installa dans une petite chambre d'une pension locale, sans se douter de ce que la vie allait lui réserver. Dans la chambre voisine logeait un gangster local dont le gang semait la terreur dans le quartier ; un peu plus loin vivait un garçon qui s'habillait en femme. Quant aux personnes âgées qui géraient la pension, elles étaient elles aussi pour le moins singulières.
