What it’s about. L'Albanie en 1933. Les hommes de la montagne vivent encore sous la terrible loi du Kanun, un code de l'honneur. Ainsi Gjerg, pour venger la mort de son frere, a tente de tuer Zef qu'il a seulement blesse. Les deux familles connaissent depuis un siecle quarante-quatre victimes. Bessian Vorspi, jeune magistrat albanais, est alors envoye par le gouvernement pour faire respecter la constitution et obtenir que Gjerg lui soit livre.
