Un rat d'appartement échange un œuf et un gland, puis recommence, puis recommence ("monotone, n'est-ce pas ?"). Une volée de canards atterrit ; un chasseur tire ; tous s'envolent, sauf un avec un drapeau américain sur le côté. Un termite abat un arbre gigantesque. Un cow-boy traverse les plaines à cheval ; non, en fait son cheval se tape dessus avec les sabots avant. Un coyote appelle sa compagne : "Hé, la belle, sors de là !". Un chameau contredit le narrateur en disant qu'il a vraiment soif. Un chien est en colère : à cause des bûcherons.
