Son père en fait don à la Vierge plutôt que de la vendre à des trafiquants malhonnêtes. Peu après, la flotille du village conduite par Salazar périt en mer. Ramon doit affronter la Manta Diablo avec un autre pêcheur pour ramener la prospérité au village.
