What it’s about. Le jour de Noël, une bombe explose dans un centre commercial. L'explosion a été perpétrée par un bombardier en série. Un garçon de 9 ans, Kuro Hazama et sa mère Mitsuko (Naho Toda) sont sérieusement et transférés dans un hôpital universitaire. Avec les compétences d'élite du chirurgien Dr Jontaro Honma (Masachika Ichimura), Kuro survit, mais est choqué d'apprendre que sa mère est dans le coma. Le Dr Honma dit à Tokio que lorsque la science médicale progressera, Michiko pourrait un jour se réveiller. Tokio décide alors de devenir médecin. 15 ans plus tard, Kuro, 24 ans, est étudiant en médecine et sa mère est toujours dans le coma. Kuro recherche des moyens de réveiller sa mère tout en pratiquant la médecine sans permis.
