What it’s about. À la veille de Noël, Michael Sherman, jeune avocat, désespère de trouver des clients. Alors qu'il est en rendez-vous au tribunal, sa fille Lily sympathise avec un certain Kris Kringle. Quelques temps auparavant, Kris, vivant au pôle Nord, a reçu la visite d'un huissier venu lui remettre une assignation en justice : le multimillionnaire Braxton Bennett accuse le père Noël d'être à l'origine de la détresse émotionnelle de bon nombre de personnes. Mais pour Bennett, ce procès n'est qu'un prétexte afin de s'enrichir. Il espère en effet remplacer le père Noël par une poupée qu'il a créée. Évidemment, il ne s'attendait pas à ce que le père Noël en personne se présente et que le procès ait finalement lieu. Poussé par Lily, Michael accepte de défendre Kris Kringle…
