What it’s about. Ashionye, une chamane nigériane réticente vivant dans le sud de l'Angleterre, a été engagée par une vieille amie de la famille, Isioma Williams, pour enquêter et expulser un esprit malveillant qui tourmente sa famille depuis la mort de son mari, Magnus, dont elle était séparée. Au grand dam de son partenaire chasseur de démons, Marv Taylor, Ashionye accepte à contrecœur ce travail afin de rembourser une vieille dette qu'elle a envers Isioma. Alors qu'Ashionye creuse davantage dans la situation familiale d'Isioma, elle se retrouve confrontée à une force familière qui lui a causé un traumatisme depuis son enfance.
