En octobre 2010, deux des meilleurs alpinistes français, Christophe Dumarest et Yann Borgnet, ont réalisé un rêve d'alpiniste : une ascension de six jours en style alpin des grandes voies de Walter Bonatti à travers le massif du Mont Blanc. Dumarest et Borgnet ont d'abord escaladé la face nord des Grandes Jorasses ; ils ont ensuite gravi le Grand Capucin et le Pilier Rouge du Brouillard, complétant leur exploit par l'ascension du Mont Blanc. Leur descente en parapente à Chamonix complète leur exploit avec une touche de fun. Les alpinistes et le réalisateur ont fait le choix éthique de ne pas utiliser d'hélicoptères pour tourner le film.
