What it’s about. Dans les années 40, le chef de la propagande nazie Joseph Goebbels souhaite faire réaliser «Jew Suss», un film judéophobe. Il propose à Ferdinand Marian, un acteur autrichien, de jouer le rôle principal. Celui-ci refuse d'abord, le jugeant contraire à ses opinions, avant d'accepter devant l'insistance de Goebbels. L'acteur y interprète le stéréotype d'un juif au nez crochu et aux cheveux sales. Le personnage est également meurtrier, simple d'esprit et obsédé sexuel. La sortie de ce film a remporté un franc succès, essentiellement en Allemagne, faisant de Ferdinand Marian une star du cinéma du IIIe Reich. Mais à la chute du régime, son destin bascule...
