Deux femmes turco-israéliennes, Coya et Sima, se procurent les cheveux auprès de marchands en Turquie et les vendent à des perruquiers de Tel Aviv, Ramat Gan et Bnei Brak. Les femmes juives orthodoxes se couvrent la tête avec des perruques fabriquées à partir de cheveux qui appartenaient autrefois aux femmes d'Anatolie. Dans ce périple, le cheveu est transformé en marchandise, en moyen de subsistance et en source de beauté, il devient casher, alors que celui qui produit soigneusement ces cheveux devient invisible.
