What it’s about. L'histoire se déroule dans une Angleterre imaginaire. Le parti "Good for You" a remporté les élections et annonce l'instauration d'une loi qui interdit formellement la consommation de tout aliment à base de sucre, y compris le chocolat, nocifs pour la santé. Détecteurs de chocolat, milices anti-chocolat, c'est une véritable répression totalitaire qui déferle sur le pays. Huntly et Smudge, deux garçons d'une dizaine d'années, n'acceptent pas d'être ainsi privés de leur friandise préférée. Après avoir vainement tenté de se fournir au marché noir, ils décident, avec l'aide de Louise et d'autres amis, de se lancer dans la fabrication illégale de chocolat.
