What it’s about. Kazuki Muto est un lycéen sans histoire. Un jour, il sauve une jeune fille d'un monstre, mais il meurt pendant le combat. Cette demoiselle, nommée Tokiko, touché par ce sacrifice, le ressuscite avec un Kakugane. Kazuki découvre alors que Tokiko est un chevalier alchimiste dont la mission est de tuer les homonculus qui menacent les êtres humains. Doté de grands pouvoirs grâce au Kakugane, Kazuki décide d'aider l'alchimiste dans sa mission d'éradication. Un combat à mort contre les homonculus commence alors....
