What it’s about. Ichinomiya Kantarou rêve depuis tout petit de réveiller le Tengu dévoreur de démons, afin de prouver aux humains que les Yokaï (démons farceurs mais gentils) et les onis (démons vengeurs et maléfiques) existent bel et bien. Plus tard, il parvient à desceller le Tengu, et lui donne le nom d'Haruka (les yokaï nommés par les humains deviennent leur compagnon). En compagnie de Youkô (yokaï renard nommée par Kantarou) et de Suzu (jeune fille de douze ans amoureuse d'Haruka), ils vont sillonner la région à la recherche d'onis à exorciser, tout en essayant de ne pas tuer ceux qu'ils possèdent...
