What it’s about. Ichigo Momomiya, jeune adolescente secrètement amoureuse de Masaya Aoyama le garçon le plus populaire de son lycée, parvient à obtenir un rendez-vous avec lui. Cependant, à la suite de celui-ci, elle adopte un étrange comportement, agissant désormais comme… un chat ! Ryô Shirogane lui apprend que son ADN a été muté avec celui du Chat d’Iriomote, lui conférant ainsi de super-pouvoirs et le devoir de protéger la Terre contre une menace d’extraterrestre encore inconnue. Quatre jeunes filles ont également subi de nombreux bouleversements : ensemble, elles vont former le groupe des Mew Mew, et tenter de concilier leur vie étudiante à celle d’héroïnes.
