What it’s about. Une nouvelle et obscure menace plane sur les habitants de la planète Terre. Il s'agit du Virus M-34, un agent pathogène d'origine extraterrestre. Celui-ci transforme les humains contaminés en monstres hideux. En l'absence de tout antidote ou remède, les gouvernements mondiaux se voient contraints d'éliminer les personnes atteintes, tout en essayant d'en cacher l'existence aux opinions publiques. La seule ressource apparemment efficace contre les humains transformés par le virus sont les soldats de l'unité NOA, des soldats d'élite dans le corps desquels circulent des nano-machines futuristes capables de produire une armure multifonctions, qui protège et renforce son porteur. Mais même en dessous de la cuirasse la plus dure, battent des coeurs humains. Comme celui du jeune et tourmenté Yuji Tamiya.
