What it’s about. Yawara Inokuma est une jeune fille qui aspire à une vie ordinaire mais en raison de son talent inné, est obligée de continuer à pratiquer le judo à cause de son grand-père autoritaire, Jigorou Inokuma qui a remporté cinq fois de suite le championnat national. Celui-ci veut qu'elle atteigne le championnat au Japon et la médaille d'or à Barcelone lors des Jeux Olympiques de 1992. Malheureusement, cette dernière veut vivre une vie normale comme toutes les filles de son âge comme tomber amoureuse, faire du shoppoing et évite autant qu'elle peut le judo. Cependant, elle commence à comprendre pourquoi son grand-père aime tant le judo, et elle commencera à l'apprécier davantage.
