What it’s about. Shin Kazama est un pilote d'avion d'une compagnie japonaise, brillant et dont l'avenir semble prometteur. En 1979, suite à un concours de circonstances, il devient mercenaire pour le compte du royaume d'Asran contre sa volonté. Shin devient donc pilote de chasse de la base militaire Area 88, lui qui est contre la guerre. Cependant, il n'y a que trois solutions pour échapper à cet enfer : respecter son contrat de trois ans, payer 1 500 000 $ ou déserter la base en risquant son exécution.
